Social media now permeates many aspects of people’s lives. From being merely a platform to connect people, it has transformed into a powerful media and marketing tool. This presents brands with an opportunity to get in touch with interested audiences in ways not possible before social media arrived.
The Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada’s (IAB Canada) Social Media Marketing course teaches students how to get a better grasp of social media and unleash its power to engage, persuade, and convert potential customers.
The course teaches social media’s role in marketing. Specifically, students will learn about techniques and strategies that enable them and their brands to create compelling content for the right audience.
This whole-day course will be taught in-person by some of the most respected and experienced instructors working in the industry today. It is divided into nine sections that progressively go more in-depth into social media, looking into its role as a marketing tool, the various components of social media marketing, and what its future looks like.
The following is an overview of the course’s curriculum:
Classes typically begin at 10 am and end at 5 pm, which includes a lunch break.
IAB Canada’s course is intended to give industry professionals an introduction to social media marketing. These professionals include marketers, agency account directors, media planners and buyers, publishers, directors of sales, and media representatives. Although designed as an introductory course, this is not meant for individuals who have little to no experience or background in social media.
